PlayMux is a player and provides no content. It plays media from sources you add yourself and are allowed to use.
System requirements
- Apple TV with tvOS 26 or later
- iPhone with iOS 26 or later, iPad with iPadOS 26 or later
- Mac with macOS 26 or later
- Android phones, tablets and Android TV with Android 8.0 or later
Add a playlist
Choose “Add Playlist” and enter an M3U address or an Xtream Codes account. On iPhone, iPad and Mac you find it in the menu under Playlists, on Apple TV in the settings under Playlists.
Connect a media server or network share
- Apple devices: open “Media Library” and choose “Add Server” for Jellyfin, Plex, Emby or an SMB share.
- Android: open the library and pick the provider, for example “Add Jellyfin Server” or “Add SMB Share”.
Media servers and network shares require PlayMux Pro.
Set up the TV guide
If your playlist contains a program guide address (XMLTV), PlayMux uses it automatically. Without one, PlayMux can fall back to a public guide source that matches channels by their identifiers.
Manage or cancel PlayMux Pro
- Apple devices: subscriptions are managed in your Apple account at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. How to cancel a subscription from Apple.
- Android: open the Google Play app, then Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions. Cancel, pause or change a subscription on Google Play.
- New Apple device: in the PlayMux Pro screen, choose “Restore Purchases”.
A subscription applies to the devices that use the same Apple ID or Google account. A subscription bought through Apple does not unlock PlayMux on Android, and vice versa.
Sync and passwords
With PlayMux Pro, your data syncs through your own iCloud account on Apple devices and through your own Google Drive on Android. On Apple devices, passwords travel only through iCloud Keychain (independent of PlayMux Pro), end-to-end encrypted. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Delete your data
- iPhone, iPad and Mac: choose “Delete All PlayMux Data” in the menu. This also removes the synced iCloud data.
- Apple TV: delete the app.
- Android: see Google user data in the Privacy Policy for removing synced data from Google Drive.
