1. Introduction

Welcome to PlayMux. By downloading, installing, or using the PlayMux application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

PlayMux is developed and maintained by PlayMux ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms govern your use of the App on all supported platforms, including Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android.

2. Nature of the Service

The App functions as a player for IPTV streams (via M3U playlists and Xtream Codes API) and as a client for self-hosted media servers (Jellyfin, Plex, Emby) and network shares (SMB/NAS). All content is sourced from third-party providers or your own personal media libraries.

3. User Responsibilities

As a user of PlayMux, you agree that:

• You are solely responsible for the content sources (IPTV providers, playlists, media servers) that you configure in the App.
• You will comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations regarding the content you access through the App.
• You will not use the App to access, stream, or distribute copyrighted content without proper authorization from the copyright holder.
• You will ensure that your use of third-party IPTV services complies with the terms of service of those providers.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your media server credentials and playlist URLs.

4. Content Disclaimer

PlayMux has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party IPTV providers, media servers, or content sources. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the legality, quality, or availability of any content accessed through the App.

Any issues related to content — including availability, quality, legality, or licensing — are solely between you and the respective content provider or rights holder.

5. Intellectual Property

The PlayMux name, logo, visual design, user interface, and all associated branding are the proprietary property of PlayMux and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our branding without prior written consent.

The App's source code and all underlying technology are proprietary and confidential. Reverse engineering, decompilation, or disassembly of the App is prohibited to the extent permitted by applicable law.

6. Third-Party Services

PlayMux uses The Movie Database (TMDB) API for metadata enrichment (movie and series information, posters, ratings). This data is used under TMDB's API terms of use. TMDB is not affiliated with PlayMux, and their trademark and content policies apply to their data.

Apple, the Apple logo, Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and Mac are trademarks of Apple Inc. Android is a trademark of Google LLC. All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee compatibility with all IPTV providers, stream formats, or media server configurations.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PlayMux and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App.

This includes, without limitation, damages for loss of data, loss of revenue, or damages resulting from content accessed through user-configured sources. PlayMux is not responsible for the actions, content, or data of third-party providers or services you connect to through the App.

9. Termination and Discontinuation

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. Since we do not maintain user accounts, no account deletion process is necessary.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. Material changes may also be communicated through the App's release notes on the respective app stores.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Germany.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect.
